- Wednesday, March 19th 9:00 a m Meet at Spring Canyon
- Drive into the park all the way to the circle at the end. Wear
sturdy shoes, bring gloves and some hand trimmers. We will be
tidying up the 1/2 mile long trail started in the 1980’s by the Boy
Scouts.
- Saturday, March 22nd 8:30 a m 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt
- Easter is really early this year so lets help the bunny hide
3,000 eggs before our young guests arrive. Glenn will have her new
concession van, so grab a few dollars for treats (coffee if its
cold; root beer floats if its warm) Only in Deming can we wonder
about the weather! We’ll all be home in time for a nap.
- Wednesday, March 26th Meeting with Special Guest
- Board Meeting at 8:30 a m
- General Meeting at 10:00 a m
- 10:30 will bring a special guest speaker-Dave DeWitt who is one
of the foremost authorities on chile peppers and spicy foods. He
will discuss his recently published historical novel, “Avenging
Victorio: a Novel of the Apache Insurgency in New Mexico, 1881. The
story follows fact with the U S Army’s Ninth Cavalry and Buffalo
Soldiers in the fight. As always, the meeting is free and open to
the public. Bring your friends and neighbors. Coffee and donuts
provided.

- Pre sale orders must be turned in by Thursday, September
6th between 9-11 am at the Luna County Cooperative Extension office,
829 Cody Road, 505 546 8806
- Music in the Park featuring Mariachi Music performed by
Deming students Saturday, September 15th from 6-8 p m. This special
event is sponsored by First New Mexico Bank. Jesus is making special
parking arrangements, providing a lighted stage and a huge tent for
our comfort. Glenn Pelton will bring her concession stand so bring
your $$ for root beer floats, slushes, teas and coffees. Grab your
lawn chairs and bring the gang. This event is free and open to the
public.
- Native Plant Delivery-sometime between 9/18 and 9/21
Volunteers are needed to help: remember your leather gloves and flat
bottomed wagons. Unload truck and assemble pre orders
- Native Plant Sale Day Saturday, September 22nd from 8 a m
until sold- help people select plants, load plants-remember your
gloves and flat bottomed wagons. We will have coffee & homemade
cookies.
- Regular meeting Wednesday, September 26th at the Visitor
Center
- Our special guest is Laura Simmons of New Mexico
Raptors. She will bring a live Harris’s Hawk and a Peregrine
Falcon to this very special program.
- The Board meets at 8:45 a m., General Meeting at 10:00 a m
followed by Laura at 10:30. Guests are welcome. As usual the
meetings are free and open to the public. Coffee, water and donuts
are available.
